Senior Internet users are increasingly aware and active online. They are eager to buy online and use modern digital payments. These are the conclusions from the latest report of Kobiety e-biznesu Foundation "Silver generation in e-commerce", whose partner is Przelewy24.
The study was conducted among people over 60 years of age, and its aim was to learn about the shopping habits of the representatives of the silver generation.
What were the major findings?
- As many as 86% of the surveyed seniors use the Internet daily, and 65% shop online at least once a month;
- 82% of respondents shop online on their own;
- seniors' favourite payment method is fast transfers (34%).
According to the report, the digital competence of people over 60 is high, and their payment preferences do not stand out from those of the general population. BLIK ranked second among favourite payment methods, and card payments are chosen by 15% of senior online shoppers.
– The study shows the new face of seniors on the Internet. They consciously and efficiently make choices in the online world. That is why it is necessary to provide an offer tailored specifically for them, with particular emphasis on payment security, and a product portfolio catering to the specific needs of older consumers. A new generation is now entering this stage of life – they are much more technologically savvy, but have their own requirements – says Magdalena Grablewska, Przelewy24.
