A new nationwide charity and educational campaign, “I Help Because…”, run by the Donateo Foundation, has just been launched. The project’s first ambassador is renowned philanthropist Omenaa Mensah, founder of the Omenaa Foundation. The initiative, jointly supported by the Przelewy24 and Polskie ePłatności (PeP) brands, aims to promote quick and secure cashless micro-donations during everyday shopping—both online and in-store.

The main objective of the newly launched “I Help Because…” campaign is to show that helping others does not have to involve significant financial contributions or time-consuming formalities. Sometimes, a small gesture made while completing an everyday payment is enough to provide meaningful support to those in need.

During the first stage of the campaign, the funds raised will be donated to the beneficiaries of the Omenaa Foundation. For the past twelve years, the organization has actively supported children and young people, helping to create equal educational and life opportunities for them. The funds generated through micro-donations will go directly to children living in Polish care and educational institutions (children’s homes), giving them the opportunity to build a better future and develop their talents.

– I believe that philanthropy has tremendous power. It does not always have to take the form of major campaigns—sometimes a small gesture and a quick decision are enough to change someone’s life. Through micro-donations, we can support education, nurture talent, and give children from Polish children’s homes the chance of a better start. Helping can become part of our everyday lives—it is that simple! – Omenaa Mensah, founder of the Omenaa Foundation.

– “Modern payments offer not only convenience but also enormous potential to do good. Thanks to the technology used in PeP terminals and the Przelewy24 payment gateway, making micro-donations is easier than ever—both in physical stores and when shopping online. We believe that every small act of everyday support contributes to the tremendous power of helping others” – says Maciej Nowosielski, President of the Management Board of Polskie ePłatności and Przelewy24.

Online and offline synergy—how do micro-donations work?

The “I Help Because…” campaign adopts a modern, two-channel approach to charitable giving:

  • In e-commerce (online): Online store customers can conveniently add a micro-donation to the value of their shopping cart when completing a transaction through the Przelewy24 payment gateway. The entire process requires just one click before authorizing the payment.

  • In physical stores (offline): Donations can be made in a similar way through PeP payment terminals. Before paying by card, phone, or smartwatch, a brief prompt appears on the device’s screen asking whether the customer would like to support the campaign.

In both cases, making a donation takes only a few seconds and does not require the payer to log in, register, or provide any additional personal information.

The launch of the “I Help Because…” campaign marks another step in the development of innovative, socially responsible payment services (CSR), demonstrating that technology can naturally support those most in need.
